Notes:

• The numbers 4 an 7 alone are called "shi" 「し」 and "shichi" 「しち」. However, all other numbers that include the numbers 4 and 7 use the following words for 4 and 7 :

4 "yon" 「よん」

7 "nana" 「なな」

• In modern written Japanese, numbers are written as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. Kanji is not used.

Examples:

ここに３人がいます。

There are three people here.

今は５時です。
いま　は　ご　じ　です。
It is five o'clock now.

７月にカナダに行きます。
しち　がつ　に　かなだ　に　いきます。
I am going to Canada in July.
